CITY SKYLINEThe famous Koelner Dom (Cologne Cathedral) is the highest building in cologne. It is surrounded by the Central station, the Philharmony and the modern art museum Ludwig. The tower in the background is the TV-tower called "Colonius".
The Mediapark wasd built between 1990 and 2004 and hosts radio and tv stations, record labels, IT-companies and a cinema.

Cologne Central station is the most important station in Germany with direct trains to: Amsterdam: 2.5h Berlin: 4.5h Munich: 5.5h Paris: 4h Prague: 8h.
Take a boat trip on the Rhine and see the old town panorama or the old fishing village of Rodenkirchen. The landing stages are up- and downstream of Hohenzollernbridge.
The former Restaurant with a rich tradition is operaterd today by Cologne trade fair and only occasionally there are some events in this architectural jewel situated directly above the Rhine.
This "skycraper" was Europes highest building when it was built in 1925. Now it contains the world largest record/CD shop, the Saturn.
This "Dome" was built especially for the Musical "Gaudi" (about the spanish architect). Then and actually used for several musicals like "Saturday night fever", "We will Rock you" or "Spamalot" (Monty Python).
As early as 1859, Cologne had a fixed bridge. The bridge as it is now was built between 1907 and 1911 and had to be rebuilt after WWII when it was completely destroyed. On each side you will find on the left and right statues of Friedrich Wilhelm IV. and Wilhelm I. (right bank, Deutz) and Friedrich III. and Wilhelm II. (left bank, city center).
The name "Melaten" is taken from the french "malade" (sick). The cemetry contains numerous old trees which are home to al kind of birdlifes. Many famous inhabitants of Cologne are buried here.
There are numerous parks in Cologne like Aachener Weiher, Volksgarten, Stadtgarten, Rathenauplatz, Jugendpark/Rheinpark, etc. Just relax while you listen to the sound of the city.

The Severinsbridge is the first new constructed bridge in Cologne after WWII. It was built 1958/59.
The illuminated arch of the Koelnarena.
The Deutzer bridge was reconstructed 1947/48. There was a second bridge built between 1976 and 1980 which was combined with the first one to gain more space for the rails and the 2-lane carriageway. The bridge connects the center with the Deutz-quarter.
The triangle-tower with it’s 103.20 meter high is the highest office building on the right bank of the Rhine. The observation platform offers an unbelievable view.
